Africa
India and Africa have a longstanding trade relationship, with India being one of the largest trading partners for many African countries.
In 2019-20, the total trade between India and Africa stood at $62.66 billion, with India exporting goods worth $29.2 billion and importing goods worth $33.4 billion from Africa.
India’s main exports to Africa include petroleum products, pharmaceuticals, vehicles, machinery, and textiles. On the other hand, India imports primarily crude oil, gold, diamonds, coal, and copper from Africa.
India has also been investing heavily in Africa, with the major sectors being mining, agriculture, infrastructure, and energy. Indian companies have invested over $54 billion in Africa, and this trend is expected to continue in the future.
Overall, the trade value between India and Africa is expected to increase in the coming years, driven by India’s growing economy and Africa’s vast natural resources and emerging markets.
